Succulent

Oh, I worked so hard today.
I finished up the day
exhausted.
Exhilarated.
It was all for me.
It was all for seedlings that
I want to put out into the world.
It was delicious.

Here we go

This sudden cold snap
has snapped me awake.
All my plans take on crisp new
corners.
Then before I know it,
they flap their wings to warm up
and dig in their toes
for takeoff.
